2006 Adventures
...the year in review...
I tackled a few more road trips this year than usual, mostly due to an old friend coming to visit. The exploratory highlight of the year remains a story I still love to tell, of riding six hours on New Year's Eve to the southern tip of Illinois to eat a BBQ sandwich from a "legendary" place called Shemwell's. The year also featured a trip to the Mississippi Petrified Forest, the only petrified forest east of the Mississippi River, and my first ever trip to the Sipsey Wilderness back in Alabama. Other highlights include The Muddy Boot Clan's inaugural trip to the Talladega National Forest, and a canoe trip on Bluff Lake at Noxubee Wildlife Refuge.
